What Is SplunkTrust? Splunk's Recognition for Individuals
SplunkTrust is a global recognition Splunk gives to individuals, not companies. A partner tier measures a company; SplunkTrust measures what a person inside that company has contributed to the community over the years. The two answer different questions.
What does it measure?
A common misreading is that SplunkTrust marks the people who know Splunk best. Splunk's own description says the opposite: the program exists to recognize the most helpful people in the room.
Selection looks at community participation more than technical knowledge. The areas Splunk counts include leading user groups, being among the top contributors on the community site, being a respected speaker at Splunk events, and building apps on Splunkbase.
How is it awarded?
There are two routes: you apply yourself, or someone nominates you. A nominated person still has to complete the application form.
The application period opens each May and June, new members are announced by the end of July, and the cohort is inducted at Splunk's annual .conf event. Membership is open to both Splunk customers and partners.
It is reassessed every year
SplunkTrust membership is not a permanent title. It is renewed annually. Nobody gets in once and stays for life; if the contribution stops, so does the membership.
That is what makes a consecutive run meaningful. Being selected once shows the contribution of that year. Appearing in many cohorts back to back shows the contribution has continued for years.
The cohort naming changed over the years
Splunk has not always named the cohorts the same way, which can be confusing when you look back. The sequence is:
- .conf21, .conf23 — the early cohorts were named after that year's .conf event.
- 2022 — Splunk did not publish a separately named cohort announcement every year; there is no standalone announcement page for 2022.
- 2024 — named as a single year.
- 2025-2026, 2026-2027 — named as two-year spans from here on.
What does it mean for a buyer?
A partner tier tells you the company's volume, certification and delivery portfolio. SplunkTrust tells you who is actually inside that company.
An architecture decision, an ES tuning exercise or a production problem at three in the morning is solved by a person, not by a company. So the two questions belong together: which tier is the firm at, and who is on the team?
Even so, it is not sufficient on its own. SplunkTrust measures community contribution; field experience is a separate question worth asking.
How to verify it
SplunkTrust members are published on Splunk's community site. Each cohort announcement appears on the Community Blog at community.splunk.com and includes the member list.
If a firm says it has a SplunkTrust member on the team, ask for the person's name and which cohorts they were in. Both can be checked on the community page.
The situation in Türkiye
SplunkTrust is a global program and the number of members from Türkiye is small. Suat Çelikok of DataVira has held SplunkTrust membership across six consecutive cohorts, from .conf21 through the 2026-2027 cohort. As far as is known, nobody else in Türkiye has done this.
This is not a marketing claim: every cohort announcement is published on Splunk's community site, so it can be verified independently.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is SplunkTrust?
It is a global recognition Splunk gives to individuals who contribute to its community. It goes to people rather than companies, and it is renewed every year.
Are SplunkTrust and Splunk Elite Partner the same thing?
No. Elite Partner is a company's tier in the Splunk Partnerverse program. SplunkTrust is an individual recognition. A company can be at the Elite tier without a SplunkTrust member on the team, and the reverse is possible too.
What does it take to become a SplunkTrust member?
By Splunk's own description, what counts is community contribution more than technical knowledge: leading user groups, answering questions on the community site, speaking at Splunk events, building apps on Splunkbase. You can apply yourself or be nominated by someone else.
Is membership permanent?
No. Membership is reassessed and renewed each year. That is why being selected in consecutive years shows the contribution has continued.
How do I verify someone's SplunkTrust membership?
Check the SplunkTrust page on community.splunk.com and the cohort announcements on the Community Blog. Each announcement includes the member list.
Is there a SplunkTrust member in Türkiye?
Yes. Suat Çelikok of DataVira has held SplunkTrust membership across six consecutive cohorts, from .conf21 through the 2026-2027 cohort.
