Splunk Partner Tiers: Associate, Premier and Elite Explained

Not every Splunk partner is the same. Splunk sorts partners into three tiers in its Partnerverse program, and it decides the tier against criteria it measures itself. When you evaluate a proposal, knowing the vendor's tier tells you how much verified capability sits behind it.

What is Partnerverse?

Partnerverse is Splunk's official partner program. Companies that sell, deploy, operate or build on Splunk take part in it. The program defines what a partner is authorized to do and which tier it sits at.

The tier is not a marketing label. Splunk keeps it in its own records and it can be verified from the official catalog.

The three tiers

Partnerverse has three tiers. From the bottom up:

  • Associate — entry level. The partnership exists, but the volume and certification thresholds are still low.
  • Premier — the middle tier. Requires higher sales volume, more certified staff and broader capability.
  • Elite — the top tier. The highest thresholds apply here: technical depth, proven customer success and sustained commitment.

What determines the tier?

Splunk does not award the tier on a single measure. According to the program documentation, the determining factors are:

  • Bookings — sales volume over the trailing 365 days.
  • Certifications — the number of certified staff on both the sales and pre-sales technical side.
  • Continuing education (CEUs) — training credits accumulated across sales and engineering.
  • Solution and industry badges — markers of expertise in specific products or verticals.
  • Customer success portfolio — delivered engagements that can be referenced.

Capabilities are separate from the tier

The tier alone is not enough information. Splunk also defines which capabilities a partner is authorized for: selling (Sell), managed service (Manage), co-delivering a cloud migration with Splunk (Cloud Migration Co-Delivery) and so on.

A partner can sit at the Elite tier and hold only the Sell authorization. So the right question has two parts: which tier are you at, and which capabilities are you authorized for?

How to verify a partner's tier

Splunk publishes its partners in the official Partner Solutions Catalog. A company's tier and capabilities are visible there. A claim on a website and a record in the catalog are not the same thing.

Status in the Cisco Splunk Security Solutions program, created after Cisco acquired Splunk, is verified from the Cisco Partner Locator.

When you evaluate a proposal, ask the vendor to show you their catalog record. If they cannot, the tier claim is unverified.

What the tier does and does not guarantee

The Elite tier shows that the thresholds Splunk measures have been met. It is a reliable signal about volume, certification and a portfolio of delivered work.

But the tier is an organizational measure, not an individual one. It does not tell you how many years of field experience the engineer assigned to your project has. So after asking about the tier, ask the second question too: who will actually do this work, and how long have they been doing it?

Where DataVira sits

DataVira sits at the Elite tier of the Splunk Partnerverse, with the Sell, Manage and Cloud Migration Co-Delivery capabilities. The status is verifiable in the official Splunk Partner Solutions Catalog.

We have an answer to the second question too: our team carries more than 20 years of field experience, and Suat Çelikok is the only person in Türkiye known to have held SplunkTrust membership across six consecutive cohorts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many Splunk partner tiers are there?

Three: Associate, Premier and Elite. Elite is the top tier.

What does becoming an Elite Partner require?

Splunk assesses trailing-365-day bookings, sales and pre-sales technical certifications, accumulated continuing-education credits, solution or industry badges, and a portfolio of delivered customer success. The thresholds vary by tier and by program.

How do I verify that a company is Elite?

Check Splunk's official Partner Solutions Catalog. The tier and capabilities are published there. A claim on the company's own website is not verification on its own.

Is the Elite tier necessary for every engagement?

No. For a small, one-off deployment a lower-tier partner may be enough. The Elite tier matters in regulated or high-volume environments, in complex architecture decisions and where long-running operations are needed.

Are tier and capability the same thing?

No. The tier (Associate / Premier / Elite) shows the overall level; the capabilities (such as Sell, Manage, Cloud Migration Co-Delivery) show what the partner is authorized to do. Ask about both separately.

Is there an Elite-tier Splunk partner in Türkiye?

Yes. DataVira is a Türkiye-based Splunk Elite Partner, and its status is published in the official Splunk catalog.
